I didn't want to make an archer and level up to shoot a bandit in the chest 50 times, while I backpedal halfway across the map. Wait till you're level 25, everytime you leave town every single common bandit in the game will have enchanted daedric/ebony armour, and will be able to take 50 arrows and keep on going. The game is great, as long as you don't level past 15. For someone who plays the game, takes their time, gains levels, and tries to enjoy everything the world has to offer, level scaling is the devil (I mean it).Īs it is now, it's ridiculous.
For someone who buys the game rushes through the main quest and beats the game in time for dinner, level scaling is perfect. I've made multiple characters and I thoroughly enjoy Oblivion, but I'm having a hard time coping with Bethesda's decision to implement level scaling.
