When I tried the same thing for Linux virtual machine, Azure created a nice and easy to use Linux virtual machine. In the Block Storage menu on the sidebar, click Boot Volumes. When deploying a new virtual machine from an Azure Marketplace image, the default drive size is often 127GB or less. To resize disk, click VM-> Disks-> choose data disk (in my case 10GB disk is a DATA disk) Make sure you shut down the Linux Guest before you start and I would advise taking a copy of the VHD file before we begin as a backup.
